Christmas 2018 activities and events in the Lehigh Valley PA
While the air has gotten cooler, it’s also gotten more magical, as the holiday season is upon us once again. If you want to get out and enjoy holiday fun for the whole family, you’re in luck! There’s no shortage of Christmas 2018 activities and events in the Lehigh Valley PA, and we have a few suggestions for you.
It just would not be the holiday season without magnificent light displays, and you can see such a display with Lights in the Parkway in Allentown. Drive through loads of larger-than-life light shows, which include animated displays—and it is all set to music. Onsite tickets are $15 per car, $25 per van, commercial van, minibus, or limo, and $45 per bus. Advanced tickets can also be purchased at a reduced cost.
What began as a family decorating their home decades ago has expanded into a must-see dazzling display for anyone who loves the Christmas season. Located in Bernville, Koziar’s Christmas Village is a unique attraction, with over one million lights shimmering across the landscape. Admission is $12 for people ages 11 to 64, $11 for seniors ages 65+, $10 for children ages 4 to 10, and kids ages 3 and under enter for free!
All aboard, railroad fans! The Colebrookdale Railroad offers excursions on the train all throughout the year, and for the holiday season, the rides have an added Christmas touch! Santa’s Polar Bear Express and the ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas Train both offer magical Christmas-themed journeys the entire family can enjoy. Visit the website for full details and departure times for each exciting train ride!
Beautifully decorated Christmas trees have been a staple in the houses of those who celebrate the season for generations, and if you want to spend an evening walking among magnificent trees, then you may be interested in the Trees of Historic Bethlehem event. This takes place across four different historic sites, and each tree will be adorned with decorations and ornaments that are inspired by historic works of art.
The entire family can get into the Christmas spirit with the festive “Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland” show at Pines Dinner Theatre in Allentown. If you can’t stop playing Christmas music in the car during the season, this is the show for you, as it features plenty of classic holiday tunes, and even Santa Claus himself makes an appearance!
Most of the animals may be offsite catching up on their shut-eye, but you and the family can wander the paths of the Lehigh Valley Zoo for the Light Spectacular. Over one million lights will line the paths, and you will all be delighted by the animated displays and the fun children’s characters that you encounter. Revenue from the event will go toward helping animal conservation programs in the Lehigh Valley.
This is just a taste of what you can do around the Lehigh Valley PA area for the holiday season. We hope you all have a great time, and happy holidays from all of us at J.D. Byrider!
